Product Care

Somnole encasements and protectors are built for repeated washing — they're tested to 200 wash cycles. Following the care instructions below keeps the waterproof layer working and your warranty valid.

Washing

  • Temperature: Cold or warm water, up to 40°C / 104°F
  • Detergent: Regular liquid or powder detergent. Skip fabric softener — it clogs the waterproof layer.
  • Cycle: Normal or gentle. Wash separately from sharp items (zippers, hooks, jeans).

Drying

  • Tumble dry on low heat until fully dry, or hang to air-dry
  • Do not iron — heat damages the polyurethane membrane
  • Do not dry clean

How often to wash

  • Normal use: Once a month
  • Incontinence, night sweats, postpartum: Weekly, or after any incident
  • After a bed bug treatment: Follow your pest professional's instructions — usually a hot wash above 60°C / 140°F for one cycle, then return to normal care

What not to do

  • No bleach — it weakens the waterproof membrane
  • No fabric softener — it clogs the waterproof membrane
  • No high-heat ironing or steaming
  • No dry cleaning solvents
